How to Actually Measure a Campaign: Beyond Reach, Impressions, and the Ads Dashboard (2026)

Most campaign reports stop at reach, impressions, and a few numbers pulled from the ads dashboard in Meta Business Suite.

It looks tidy. It also hides whether the campaign moved anyone, and how you did next to your competitors.

Here is a fuller way to measure what a campaign actually did.

1. Look past your owned pages and ad metrics

Platform dashboards show your paid reach and your own posts. They do not show the wider conversation about the campaign, which is where perception is actually formed.

2. Count influencer and earned mentions, not just paid slots

A campaign's reach often comes from creators and organic shares, not only the placements you paid for.

Track influencer mentions and their results. Our piece on how an influencer's follower count shapes expectations is a useful lens here.

3. Read the replies and comments, not just the counts

The replies and comments under a campaign carry the real reaction. Keep two signals separate: sentiment (are people positive or negative) and emotion (are they excited, angry, amused). They are different, and both matter.

4. Benchmark against competitors' campaigns

A number means little on its own. Measure your share of voice and sentiment against competitors running campaigns at the same time, so you know whether you actually won the moment.

Our guide to analyzing competitors walks through how to set this up.

5. Put it in one scorecard

Combine owned reach, earned and influencer mentions, qualitative reaction, and the competitive benchmark into a single campaign scorecard. That is the difference between counting and measuring.

What actually decides it in the GCC and MENA

A campaign's real impact lives in the conversation around it, and in this region most of that conversation is in Saudi, Egyptian and other dialects, plus Franco-Arabic. Measure only your owned reach and you miss the influencer, qualitative, and competitive signal that tells you what actually happened.

Bringing those together, Arabic-first, is what dima is built for.

If you cannot see the replies, the influencers, and your competitor's campaign next to yours, are you measuring impact or just counting impressions?
